JUNE MONTH 2012

WHAT HAS THE WORD DONE FOR YOU

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men. [5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. (John 1:1-5 KJV)

Many believers have a favorite scripture that in most cases speaks to their relationship or their response to what  God truly means to them. The Word of God is like a sharp two edge sword,  and it will have an effect on your life, either drawing or driving you according to your faith. It is my humble opinion that the Word of God is not only essential to our faith but it is everything that we need. “What has the Word done for you?”

John points out that before anything was, the Word was already in full effect. Before there was love, laughter or life,  the Word was with God and the Word was God. We must understand that God’s Word is more than letters on the pages or chapters and verses. God’s Word is the spoken essence of His Power. He authorized His Son to communicate with us, to us and for us. Our very being was authorized by the Word of God with Power in the Son of God. He created the whole world for us through His Word.

Everything and anything that we can imagine, God made it and there was not any thing made that was made without the Word. If we believe in the Holy Word then we know, that all that God says, and all that God has done, does not compare to the Great things he will do through the power of His WORD! “WHAT HAS THE Word done for you?”

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. (1st Timothy 6:11)

Being a man in our society today has unfortunately been reduced to merely ones physical attributes. If you believe the world, there are those who actually suggest it’s a choice. However, the God that we serve created us both male and female; the scripture does not suggest male or female. To be the men that God has called us to be we must possess and exhibit certain characteristics.  ”Do you have what it takes?”

In verse 10, the Apostle Paul issued a warning to young Pastor Timothy and to all God’s men that the love of Money is the root, the foundation for all evil. If you covet money you will error in your faith and as a result will pierce your self with many sorrows. Loving money more than your faith, your family or your future will cause problems in your life. On the other hand if you flee or go away from that mindset and embrace the things and characteristics of God your life will never be the same.

Men of God you must follow after the righteousness, seek to live godly, put your faith in God and your love for your family as priorities in your life. Ask God for patience, meekness and a pure heart and you will begin to see a change in your life. If you desire to be a real man of God then these are things you must do and this is the path you must follow. Are you ready to be the Godly man God predestined you to be? “Do you have what it takes?”
